MLA POCT Exam Process
All Managers/Supervisors requesting the POCT Competency Exam for a MLA staff member(s) are required to review/complete the requirements as outlined below.
STEP 1: Requesting the Exam:
The requesting manager/supervisor will notify the NSRMLS via email to info@nscmlt.org a minimum of two-weeks in advance that they have a candidate for the POCT exam.
The required documents can be accessed on the NSRMLS website at nsrmls.org. Both documents must be completed for each applicant prior to admission to the POCT Competency Exam.
- REG.039.F1 - POCT Competency Exam Acknowledgement Form
- REG.038.F1 - Exam Invigilator Verification Process and Form
The requesting manager/supervisor will send the completed/signed forms plus a copy of the candidate’s POCT Training Records to the NSRMLS via email to info@nscmlt.org
STEP 2: Setting up the Exam:
Once the required forms are received/reviewed, the NSRMLS will confirm the requested date for the exam or provide an alternate date to the requesting site.
The alternate date must be confirmed by the requesting manager/supervisor via email to the NSRMLS at info@nscmlt.org.
STEP 3: Administering the Exam:
The requesting manager/supervisor is responsible for the administration and oversight of the POCT exam as per the details provided on the Exam Invigilator Verification Form.
STEP 4: Documentation of Exam result:
Though candidates receive an automatic result (Pass or Fail) once the exam is completed, the NSRMLS will review the results.
The NSRMLS will email official notification to the candidate, and if successful, will include a certificate of completion. The certificate will also be uploaded to the candidate’s NSRMLS file.
The NSRMLS will maintain documentation of all candidates exams.
